new program launch: 645 with amoila cesar

645 is the newest Beachbody at home workout program (launched in July 19th 2021).

It was created by Super-Trainer Amoila Cesar, who also created 6 Weeks of The Work and 4 Weeks of the Prep.

What makes 645 unique is the emphasis on building strength as well as mobility (which is just as important as strength!) and the use of the larger cloth based resistance loops that I cannot wait to use!

The Equipment You’ll Need:

dumbells & the resistance loops (grab in the accessories bundle with VIP access)

Details:

  • 6 days a week, 45 minutes a day, for 13 weeks

  • Focus on strength training, cardio, and mobility work

  • Amoila is a trainer for celebs & NBA players which is amazing & so inspiring

  • Take away: Build strength while focusing on mobility so it’s easier to recover (less soreness!)

Want to learn more? Here are all the details:

  • Each week: 4 full-body strength workouts, 1 mobility workout, and 1 cardio workout

  • Workout Calendar to x off each workout on so you don’t lose track

coach summit 2022 announced: St. Louis

Coach summit, is a yearly fitness conference open to all beachbody coaches and customers (or prospective customers).

Summit is one of my favorite trips of my year, before the world shut down 2020+) my bff Marcie & I went to every summit from 2016-2019 & then caught the virtual summits when we couldn’t meet in person.

The energy of summit is amazing AND working out with the super trainers live + in person + meeting the ladies from the girl squad in real life, is such a cool experience.

If you’re interested in checking it out, feel free to email me and ask any specific questions.

live summit workouts are uploaded to BOD!

one of the absolute best things about summit is the live workouts with the supertrainers. While we couldn’t do them live this year, they did still stream a bunch of workouts live and then uploaded them to the BOD (seriously, love the variety of this platform).

Here are the workouts available (must have a BOD membership to access):

  1. Amoila Cesar's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (32 minutes): dumbells

  2. Jennifer Jacob's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (31 minutes): dumbbells, resistance loops

  3. Autumn Calabrese's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (32 minutes): dumbbells

  4. Elise Joan's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (31 minutes): dumbbells, resistance loops

  5. Joel Freeman's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (31 minutes): no equipment

  6. Megan Davies Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (26 minutes): dumbbells

  7. Idalis Velasquez's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (34 minutes): dumbbells

  8. Jericho McMathews Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (31 minutes): dumbbells

  9. Shaun T's Exclusive 2021 Summit Workout (30 minutes): dumbbells

  10. The Superworkout (87 minutes): dumbbells, resistance loops

If you’re part of The Girl Squad, make sure that you post your summit workouts in the pinned post for the giveaway (August 16-22nd, 2021).

1 entry for each workout you post (make sure you tell us which one it is) + a sentence on what your thoughts of the workout were, 2 entries for the superworkout. (*US entries only).

Beachbody Challenge Winners ($100,000 Prize Each)

Did you know that you could win money by submitting your measurements, photos, and a few comments on what you’ve used to create these results. Fun fact: I talked to corporate about my brazil butt lift results!

You also receive free workout gear like tanks/tshirts when you submit your results.

Each summer, the beachbody community votes on who should win each age group and then the two individuals (male and female) who have received the most votes receive $100,000 each.

All finalists are on stage at summit and they announce the winner in huge, glorious fashion.

100%, every single time, I am crying. In fact, just typing that the memories come flooding back and the tears start again.

These people and their grit is SO inspiring and that inspiration brings me tears of gratitude that I’m part of something so life changing like this.

Watch the two winners below, grab the tissues first though - promise you’ll be glad you have them close by <3.

just announced: job 1 with jennifer jacobs

Job 1 is the newly announced program by Beachbody with Jennifer Jacobs, the former Peloton senior instructor.

Why Job 1? It’s the first time anyone is putting fitness and nutrition first, like it’s your full time job.

It looks really baller, not going to lie. Check out the promo video to see what I mean.

Here are the details on the workout program:

  • 4 weeks 20 minute workouts 5 days per week

  • Resistance Loops, Dumbbells, MYX Bike (optional spin days or use the regular home workout cardio options)

  • Strength training, endurance cardio, and hit cardio (or optional spin days)

Peppermint Mocha Coming Back November 2

It’s both an awesome day & a sad day. Because of the launch of cookies and creamy they had to scale back one of the fall limited edition shakeologies.

Peppermint Mocha made the cut (insert party emoji) but pumpkin spice is out this year (insert sad face emoji).

Peppermint Mocha, was kind of my favorite though so I guess I’ll just get my pumpkin spice fix in my coffee ;)

sustainable packaging for products

I am so excited for this! Beachbody will be using recycled plastic and cardboard from a sustainable forest going forward.

Did you know there are two companies that certify organizations for recycled plastic as well as sustainable forestry practices?

Check out the pics below to see if your other products have them.

bodi by beachbody details:

BODI is the newly announced interactive beachbody on demand, which will feature live classes including live spin classes that sync with the myx bike.

If you haven’t heard, Beachbody just went public after merging with two other companies: Myx Fitness and Forest Road Acquisition Corp.

You can even buy Beachbody stock under the ticker “BODY,” I haven’t yet but I definitely will and probably before September when BODI launches ;)

BODI (pronounced body) will include live classes by supertrainers, spin classes headed up in English and french by Jennifer Jacobs (who is also launching job 1 in December and is a former senior peloton instructor).

Now these two topics deserve their own blog posts, but I haven’t written them yet.

So here are the biggest things to know:

  1. BODI launches in September for regular customers but those with a Nutrition+ subscription get beta access in August. BODI has officially launched as of 8/6/2021 and is live for beta testers (must have a nutrition + subscription or try it free with any challenge pack purchase (645 is my vote for best deal). It will officially launch for purchase via the BODI membership in September 2021.

  2. What are the class times?

    • 3 live classes a day: Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays

    • 10AM, 2PM, & 4PM PST.

    • Classes are then transferred into the BODi on-demand library around one hour after streaming.

  3. What types of classes?

    • Barre, Pilates, Cardio, Core, Strength, Bootcamp, Yoga, and Meditation.

    • Get organized and filter by class length & style (yay BB! #muststayorganizedformysanity).

    • Example of classes:
10AM PT: BODi Burn with Autumn Calabrese 🔥
2PM PT: Barre BODi with Elise Joan ❤️
4PM PT: BODi Camp with Lee Jimenez 💪

  4. How much will it cost?

    • BODI will be $19.95/month (free for 30 days) or $169/year or try it for a day for $7 (that $7 will be credited if you choose to grab the membership!)

    • You can include BOD + BODI for $298/year ($24/mo)

MYX bike by beachbody details

MYX Bike will be $1299 for the base model (includes the tv) or $1499 for dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands and mats [literally all the things you need in one price that’s less than peloton]

  1. Will the myx bike fit me or our tall six feet+ husbands?

    • The MYX Bike is perfect for those 4’11” to 6’8” and up to 350lbs

  2. What makes the myx bike a good purchase compared to peloton, scwhinn or bowflex?

From a personal perspective: In total honesty, we bought a bowflex C6 bike for my husband in January 2021; something about not being able to run outside for most of the year in Milwaukee, WI (snow until May??).

I am kind of bummed we have the bowflex bike and probably won’t grab the myx fitness bike because it would be weird to have two bikes, but we spent $984 (with a military discount, originally 1,154.00) and didn’t get a tv/monitor, we did opt for an exercise mat for $100).

At 1299$ the quality of bike that you get (from reading the specs) feels super superior, the swivel tv guys, is a GAME CHANGER for home workouts.

You can bet when we want an upgrade I’ll be convincing hubby to buy the myx fitness bike when it’s time instead of doing a second bowflex, also let’s be really clear: we’ll buy it because I’M THE ONE spending hours doing the research.

The other thing to mention, is that I don’t personally use the bowflex bike because I like guided workouts (& we didn’t have a peloton or other cycling streaming workout platform since I use BOD and #batman uses nothing because he’s a purist).

I will be using the bowflex bike to stream BODI live workouts to spice up my programs and/or between programs from BOD starting in September! Also, if you buy the myx fitness bike, can I come over and try it?! Seriously, email me if you’re in the midwest!

From a PT perspective: When the MYX Fitness CEO was talking about the bike he brought up specific hip width measurements that are the best in the market. As a PT I could appreciate all the biomechanics he listed for having good alignment when riding and that they took that into account when creating it.

honest review of cookies and creamy shakeology

I love new things and more than new things, I love variety. If you don’t know, I have been drinking shakeology to kick my bloating since May 2015.

While I drink it almost everyday, I do also buy extra for my chocolate/sweet cravings. Usually, I go to Chocolate Vegan for my sweet tooth + pb & frozen banana and vanilla whey for my regular day (with fruit, pb, or mixed with chocolate recover!).

So when cookies and creamy was announced, I thought THIS IS PERFECT.

A little chocolate taste, a little vanilla taste: one packet.

I have been drinking it with ice cubes, almond milk, and just the packet of cookies and creamy for dessert. It’s 100% going to be on rotation along with vegan chocolate, vanilla whey, and sometimes tropical vegan strawberry.

If you haven’t yet: make sure you get in The Girl Squad because we’ll be doing a giveaway of the cookies and creamy shakeology in August!

Well, gosh, a lot happened in July & is coming for August — mostly because of Summit July 14-17th. I’m really pumped to share all this awesome stuff with you & hopefully will be able to share more of these throughout the rest of the year to keep you updated & to have everything all. in. one. place.

If you have any questions, email me, lauren@girlsquadfit.com & I’ll share what I know!
